Right Whale Flip Flop Sculpture
Right Whale Flip Flop Sculpture
We designed this beautiful marine mammal ahead of the Right Whale festival hosted in Amelia Island, FL. The North Atlantic right whale is a federally-protected endangered species, with less than 350 existing today.
They are on average about 50 feet long, black in coloring with the occasional white spot on their stomach, and are most easily identified through their callosities. Callosities are roughened patches of skin that appear in many of the places that humans have hair - on the top of the head, on the chin and jaw and above the eyes.
All our products are made from recycled flip-flops that are collected from the beaches, waterways and landfills in Kenya. These products are hand carved by Kenya artisans and all unique therefore will differ in colour seen in the picture.
